WRCC Indoor Soccer Player and Parent Expectations
As we kick off the new indoor soccer season, we would like to remind parents that our coaches are volunteers—fellow parents and members of the community. To ensure a positive experience for everyone, the following expectations and conduct guidelines are in place for both players and parents:
Expectations and Conduct for Players
Coaches will expect the following from players:
- Attendance: Players should regularly attend practices and games, arriving on time.
- Attitude: Players are expected to maintain a positive attitude, showing a willingness to learn and improve.
- Focus: Players should give their best effort during training and games, paying attention to instructions.
- Teamwork: Players should be good teammates, working well with others both on and off the field.
- Respect: Players must respect the rules, officials, opponents, and teammates.
- Sportsmanship: Players should demonstrate good sportsmanship, accepting both wins and losses graciously and playing fairly.
Expectations and Conduct for Parents
Coaches will expect the following from parents:
- Respect the Coach: Allow the coaches to manage the team without interference from the sidelines.
- Positive Reinforcement: Provide encouragement and positive feedback to your child and their teammates—avoid criticism or negative comments.
- Support the Team: Attend games, assist with team activities, and help with transportation when needed.
- Fair Play: Encourage your child to play fairly, discourage unsportsmanlike behavior, and promote good sportsmanship.
- Safety: Ensure your child’s safety by providing proper equipment, including shin guards and appropriate footwear.
- Role Modeling: Set a positive example for your child and others by demonstrating good sportsmanship and showing respect for officials, opponents, children, teammates, and coaches.
